Description
Ircres is an Institute of the National Research Council, and is part of the Department of Human Sciences Cultural Heritage. It is divided into 5 operating units: Moncalieri (headquarters), Genoa, Milan, Rome, Turin.
It is characterized by an applied research activity in the field of applied socio-economic sciences, articulated in the following research lines:
- Evolution of the Italian and European industrial system (analysis of systems, sectors, territories and problems)
- Organization and sustainability of the great systems of contemporary societies (policies and social innovation, labor market, art and culture for development)
- Socio-economic analysis of environmental issues (energy, agriculture, biodiversity, circular economy)
- Technological innovation (socio-economic impact of new technologies, policies)
- Evaluation of public policies (impact assessment, evaluation of universities and research)
The Institute is a member of AISRE, an association with which it shares many research interests, including:
- Public policy evaluation
- Local systems and supply chains
- Business behavior
- Territorial aspects of policies (infrastructural, economic, social and environmental)
